Padded Booster Seat

My miniature dachshund used to climb onto my lap as soon as we started driving. She now sits in the car seat with the tether attached and watches through the window instead. I can focus on the road, and she looks far more settled in her own padded space.

Our small dog normally shakes as soon as he gets into the car. He was still nervous on the first trip, but he settled once I added his usual blanket to the seat. By the second journey he lay down on his own. It feels safer than letting him move around the back seat.

Installation only took a few minutes, and the straps stayed in place during the drive. My puppy needed time to understand that he had to remain in the seat, but a few treats helped. It keeps him contained and gives him enough room to sit or curl up.

My Maltese used to stand on the seat trying to see out of the window. Now she has a better view and spends most of the trip sitting comfortably instead of scrambling around. She even fell asleep on the way home from the groomer, which has never happened before.

I bought it mainly for safety, but it has also saved the upholstery after park visits. Most of the loose hair and dirt stays inside the seat instead of spreading across the car. My dog is comfortable in it, although I still use a small blanket for longer drives.
